Build Something Real

The CryptoHawks is more than a robotics team — it's where you learn to engineer, lead, communicate, and compete. From designing and building a 150-pound robot to managing sponsors and running outreach events, every student contributes to something bigger than themselves.

We have sub-teams for everyone: Mechanical for hands-on builders, Control for programmers and electrical, and Partner Relations for students interested in marketing, business, communications, and community outreach. No experience required for any of them.

Spots on the team are limited each season. Filling out the interest form is the first step — we'll be in touch before the season kicks off.

Mentors are the backbone of an FRC team. They bring real-world expertise, professional perspective, and the kind of guidance that turns a group of high schoolers into a competitive engineering team.

We welcome mentors from all backgrounds. If you have experience in engineering, programming, business, marketing, project management, or just a passion for working with students — we'd love to hear from you.

For Sponsors

Invest in the Next Generation

Running a competitive FRC team costs approximately $25,000 per season. That covers registration fees, parts, tools, travel, and competition expenses. Every dollar from our sponsors goes directly toward giving students an extraordinary experience.

In return, sponsors receive recognition on the robot, team apparel, and our website — and the knowledge that they're helping develop the next generation of engineers, scientists, and leaders right here in the Urbana community.
